Everyone else is putting up their thoughts on HP7, so I thought I'd be different and pick another series entirely. xD Review under the cut, with a SPOILERS FOR TN5 warning!

Thoughts on First Among Sequels )

In other news, I have a college interview at Johns Hopkins on Monday. o.o; To those of you who've had to do them before - are there any tips you can give me, and is there anything else I should bring besides a list of all my extracurricular activities and stuff?

The scene at the Great Hall could only be described as anarchic. Students, witches and wizards gathered, along with centaurs, unicorns, giants and house elves. Everyone was talking loudly and worriedly. I scanned the room, looking for someone who might be in charge. I missed the days when Miss Havisham would pop in and take over. But I'd done all right for myself in all the years since. Still, she had a certain flair I could never quite duplicate.

"What are you doing?" asked a bushy-haired girl suspiciously. "Everybody knows you can't apparate inside Hogwarts." She held her wand at ready.

"I didn't apparate, Hermione," I said. "I read in. I'm an Outlander."

"Oh, well, that's different then," she said, tucking her wand back into the sleeve of her robe. "Can't be too careful, though, especially after what's happened."

Who Shot JKR?, by ghettopeach.

In which J.K. Rowling gets shot before she finishes the seventh book and Thursday Next must deal with the ensuing chaos.

READ IT. IT IS GENIUS. IT WILL (MAYBE) TIDE YOU OVER UNTIL TOMORROW NIGHT IF YOU ARE A RABID HP FAN.

...OF COURSE, A BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE THURSDAY NEXT SERIES WILL DEFINITELY HELP.

Today's been great so far. *grins* Slept in this morning and spent all day drawing and catching up on PPCing an absolutely terrible phic [personal profile] spoofmaster found on ff.net. Oh, and lying around and rereading the Thursday Next series - that too. I haven't read The Well of Lost Plots in nearly two years, and in that time I've read a lot more of the books Fforde references, so it's twice as funny now. *grins* The rage-counseling session in Wuthering Heights made me fall off my chair laughing. So did this:

"Compact?"

"I'd say," replied the technician, reading the latest weather report, "barely three paragraphs wide but with a density over six-point-four. It's currently moving at eight pages a second."

"It could tear a hole straight through
The Scarlet Letter at that rate," exploded Bradshaw, "and litter the whole book with dramatic events!"

The consequence of this was terrible to consider - a new version of
The Scarlet Letter where things actually happen.

But...yes. If you haven't read the series yet, you must! *prods insistently*
